To expand on that a little, the 1950 census should be released in 2022. Many are anxious for this release. Including myself.

A census happens every ten years in the US. So, 2030 will be the next one.

Scheduled to be released April 2022. If the 1940 release in 2012 is any indication, crowd sourcing will have it indexed in a few months. It was April to August last time because thousands of people, myself included, voluntarily indexed and we'll do the same again. I indexed for familysearch.org because they offer their collections to the public for free. Should be fun.
