That says his parents were Homer C Garriott and Mae Chew, but that means someone has added those parents to someone else in the tree: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pe...tails/LYMC-4F5 - I think perhaps someone has wrongly merged two different families.

Also, these floaters need to be merged: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pe...tails/M4CK-73K

Thank you.

Thanks for the links. I just looked on the logs for Homer, I didn't touch him so thankfully it wasn't me. Thanks for trying to fix it. I did do Kenneth, I have to look at the logs of what you did. I think it's too late in the day for me to look. Grandson and daughter are here temporarily so it's hectic during the day. I've been doing it early morning, like 3am when I get up

I'm trying to fix it but I'm not sure I'm going the right route. We'll see, lol, it might take some time.

Edit: right, I think it's pretty much sorted now, though I haven't attached all remaining hints, Kenneth C Garriott now has the correct parents attached. I've also attached the correct parents to the other John Kenneth Garriott (George T Garriott and Cora Dobbs) so people descended from him won't have a whole branch lopped off, but now they have the correct branch attached.

That's the only way to see it is if you log in I believe. It always asks me to log in. You can make a user name, you don't have to give your real name.

I do think I'm the one who originally linked her from that 1940 census. I have it open and will look at it in the morning when my brain works better. I want to remove Almeda which isn't hard to do.

I've attached Almeda to the correct mother, I think everything is in order now.

Are you all saying that the 1940 census that I copied a few days ago is wrong? In 1940, Almeda belongs with Kenneth. She is step-mother to Alice Jean. No?

Ah, I think I see. I have two different 1940 censuses. The short one is correct. The long one is missing Kenneth. All right?

Suddenly I remember why I stopped using Family Search years ago.

I tried. Maybe later. Maybe not.

It's free to create an account at FamilySearch, it's not really different from signing up at this forum, for example. What are you having trouble with?

All the data and records are on the FS tree now. Almeda was Alice's step mother - the three of them are on the 1940 census together.
