These volunteers go around to Goodwills and antique shops in many different states and buy old photos. They then post them on the Family Treasures Found page, and if no one responds, they do more research to locate relatives. The lady who runs this service returns the photo(s) to relatives free of charge, not even asking for postage. Isn't that something?

Maybe you'll find Julia there? Let us know!

That's fantastic! I will most certainly share this with my cousin!! Thank you.

Thanks for posting. I googled, they have a Facebook group. I'm going to save their site.

Family Treasures Found Facebook group

I found another Facebook group that does the same thing. Lost and Found Vintage Pictures

"Family Treasures Found" was co-founded by Tammy Loerke Jorgensen & Jeff Gonyea in order to display "lost" Identified/Non Identified photos & documents (and other items), so that they may be returned to family members. Jeff Gonyea (co-founder/admin), Sherry Hancock (Senior Researcher), Beth Brady Tharby (Researcher), Cynthia Giuliano Hooper (Researcher), Christine Bregar (Researcher/Postings), Susan Sonju (Researcher & Special Projects), Cody Whipple (Researcher/Postings), and myself, Tammy Loerke Jorgensen (co-founder/admin), have formed a team to reach one goal. That goal is to return as many lost family Items as possible. We provide this service at no charge. We also hope that as more people join the group, that unmarked photos may also be identified and returned. This is an ongoing project, so please check back as more photos and documents are added daily.

"Family Treasures Found is only responsible for the images posted which are owned by Family Treasures Found. Members concerned about privacy, ownership or copyright issues are advised not to post their images to this group."

For a listing of all of our albums, click on the "Files" tab located in the left margin of the intro page in Family Treasures Found. We have State Albums, Country Albums, Specialty Albums, Unidentified Family Albums, Named Family Albums, School Albums, Marriage Albums, Autograph Book Albums, Military Albums and many other types of albums.
