It shows what DNA YOU inherited, which may be different from what your sibling inherited from what I understand. Mine matches up with what I know about my family, and my own personal likes and dislikes. For instance, I showed up as predominately British and Scottish, which jives with my ancestry as far as I know, but it does leave out some German that I'm sure about (since my maiden name is German). I'm not particularly drawn to German stuff but my brother sure is, and he also looks more Germanic than I do from what I can tell. I don't think he's had his done but I would bet that if he does, he shows up more German than me. I think I am around 11 percent.
I did mine through 23 And Me, and I'm very satisfied with it. It tested for genetic markers for a lot of diseases, which I mostly tested negative for. It did pick up on a gene for macular degeneration but it says that I'm not more inclined to get it than the general public (my mother had macular degeneration). It also picked up on mental illness, and I thought that was interesting since my mother and brother were/are both seriously mentally ill. The average person has about a 2 percent chance of being seriously mentally ill, but I have an 11 percent chance, which means that I have an 89 percent chance of being fine (I think it would have manifested by now - I'm 61). Anyway, it also said that I am prone to Restless Leg Syndrome so I've started a supplement for or rather against that. That's it but it tested for probably hundreds of different diseases including certain types of breast cancer and Alzheimer's and Parkinson's (negative on all those, thank goodness). It was very interesting.
I am not sure how it works or how scientific it is, but it does totally match my actual genealogy and my husbands as far as ethnic results go...as far as what we know about our family tree.

My husbands
My husbands Grandmother was born in Poland though, and he didn't like being thrown in with Russia, lol.
^Of course it predicted with accuracy the relationship of all of my first, second and third cousins who I know, who have done the DNA test. And my Son and others. A lot of my family have done the DNA testing.
(My favorite is the guy who put up a picture of bigfoot for his avatar picture and for his name he put "????" for his DNA. name) My husband had a relative who posted a picture of a caveman likeness and called himself "the missing link">
