Im trying to develop a good guide for my local metro area but I am already stumped on what to add. What kind of information do you look up on internet about an area?

Here is what I already have

Taxes
Jobs
Schools
Hospitals
Churches
Venues
Arts
Entertainment
phone companies
Lights power and wasste
Dmv license and tags
flea markets
Kid friendly venues
local events

What else do you look for when relocating?

How about adding outdoor recreation and weather to that list?

EDIT: Also housing costs.

Phone companies and lights/power/waste would be the only 2 that I wouldnt care about. Everything else on the list is a high priority for me.

Weather doesnt bother me, as long as there are 4 seasons (mild or wild, I dont care).

I'd say phone company interests me only as far as availability of high-speed internet.

Based on all the threads about people looking for the "perfect weather", I'd say you're an exception. Judging by the CD forums, I'd say weather is a big factor for many (including myself -- I like sunny weather + LOTS of snow in the winter)

Nah, theres lots of others like me. Weather is definitely considered, but its not important to me whatsoever. Id rather live somewhere nice, that has crappy weather over some place that has "nice" weather and is crappy.

I guess that's my only point -- that while it may not be the deciding factor in relocation, it is definitely a factor, something most people would like to know. So from that perspective, I think it should be included in SunnyKayak's guide.
