Good luck.
They are great people (I'm MN born and raised) but...... they tend not feel the need to make new friends as they either have extended family in the area or "old" friends (people they went to school with). Plus people aren't out and about as much for a significant portion of the year due to the weather - so harder to meet your neighbors, etc

the suggestion was more tongue in cheek.

While I genuinely did like being in SP (friends up Lex in Roseville and at Turtle Lake)...
if one hasn't made friends where they are...
then moving 1000 miles isn't likely to change that any better than moving 10 miles will.

Meet me on Grand at the Creamery some time.
Coffee and sundae's will be my treat.

Very true - I guess I was speaking more to the poster's remark about "minnesota nice" .

However, I have noticed a trend where poster say they have moved from a to b or vice versa and still have no friends..... I'm way more forward about making friends than I was brought up to be (military then married to career military).

I guess mom's advice about "being a friend to have a friend" really is true

Yum, the Creamery.....

I'm aware....moving won't guarantee friends. But I feel that some places are more receptive to outsiders than others...

I recently moved to another state to begin again after divorce. Mostly just wanted to say:

Long process, with finding the right city/state, locating a house in a safe neighbor, packing/moving/unpacking, buying and selling houses....(I moved where I used to vacation)

but it is SO worth it!

Good luck!
