(okay, sorry...Jasper is not complimentary towards Florida in general, skewed perspective from living there for three years...it ain't the paradise it looks like).
Do realize that you are in the "general moving forum" where most (not all) interested parties may very well be in the "transitional" phase of their life, hence opinion. So if they are here talking about moving from florida... again, they are in the "general moving" forum.

I do...the Florida forum tends to get pretty nasty if you even suggest that Florida is not all that is cracked up to be...In my opinion...I felt if I would have started this thread in the Florida forum I would get nothing but biased defensive responses from the DIE HARD Florida is perfect crowd...
I started the thread out of curiosity because I have notice a trend of people leaving Florida...I thought the General Moving Forum was appropriate..

I must be incredibly dense, because I could not quite figure Huey's comment out and did not wish to be rude.
People often visit Florida on vacation and get a skewed view of the state. What they don't realize is living here is distinctly different than vacationing here!! When on vacation one may have paradise-like moments, but it is very, very far from paradise!
True about Florida.
Really, true about California, too. Is it paradise? Well, my answer is: is it utopia? Utopia means "no place."
That said, I still like California.
