So I want to relocate and have been looking at various sites gathering data on climates, housing costs, schools (I have kids) taxes, etc. Currently I search here at City Data, but also Moderator cut: link removed, linking to competitor sites is not allowed, Wikipedia and Weatherunderground and WeatherSpark. Can you guys recommend any other places to search through?

Thanks!
I don't think CD wants links to competing sites to be posted.
Sorry! I guess I better go and reread the rules of the forum. I really feel like an idiot because it makes perfect sense that links like that wouldn't be allowed.
No hard feelings? I promise to be more careful from now on.
Have you tried googling cities you may be interested in? That can lead you to all sorts of information on them and you can make comparisions as to cost of living, jobs etc.

It does?
Can someone please explain to me why then?
Because I thought the purpose of this forum was to help people.
That's why I'm here.
Everytime I post a link to another site that doesnt even have a forum, and doesn't contain the same information, the post gets deleted. I'd love an explanation.

I suggest you ask the admins. There is a forum for questions. They are the best resource to explain their rules.
This site isn't here because someone wanted to do a good deed, think about it it's free. The site owners make money by collecting data or by advertising is my guess. If people are going to other sites, then CD isn't making money. I may be wrong but that's my guess.

That would make sense but I don't see any ads in the forum (I'm not using an ad blocker) and I have never linked to sites that have forums and I have never linked to sites that have the same information. Otherwise I wouldn't have done it. I never even linked to them. I just mention them by name. One was an auction style shipping site, even. Unbelievable.
I see others post links all the time and nothing happens to those but I just mention the sites and they get deleted.
