Has anyone used a car carrier before? I decided to go with the trailer instead of the dolly since it would be easier on my car.

Lastly, does anyone know if you can easily push the car carrier when its not attached to the truck and with no car on it? It will be a lot easier to push the carrier into a parking spot than to try and back it up using the truck.

Any tips on hauling this thing?

Default Tip

My Tip:

Remember that it is there when:
stopping,
turning
negotiating a parking lot or gas station

After driving several hundred miles on the straightaway, it is easy to forget.

(Same with height of truck under overhangs)

I have used them before. Not penskey's but another company.
Not fun.
As for moving them, they are much heavier than a regular trailer and I wouldn't say it's impossible to push it into a parking space but it may not be easy.

Personally, I would always choose a dolly over a trailer unless it required removing the rear drive shaft of the car. It's lighter, has a lower center of gravity, and tows easier. But that's my personal preference.

You will probably not be able to push the car trailer by hand. They're very heavy. If you have some buddies that can help push it, maybe...

Regarding hauling, the tips are pretty simple. Remember that you have a LOT of weight pushing you. Go slower. Allow FAR more room for braking. You'll need to make wide turns. No sudden starts, stops, or turns. Also, do not drive into an area you can't easily drive out of.
