First the person who was taking the bedroom did not . However, the couple who took the entertainment center and dining room decided they would take it for their daughter. She is so excited that she is going to have a big girl bedroom set, all she had was a mattress but no drawers or dressers. So bedroom set is gone.

Meanwhile, they needed help with the entertainment center, there is a guy who is just moving into the apartment below me. He helped them move the entertainment center. He just moved from Oklahoma City with no furniture. He said he would take my couch and love seat and give me some money too boot. This is one less stress that I have to deal with.

With all the major pieces gone, Salvation Army should not have a problem with what is left. Nothing is really that big and bulky.

A week from today, the adventure cross country begins. I can't wait, to finally live in the same house, same city with my husband. We have only seen each other for a week for Christmas and a week in March since our wedding in October.

My mother in law was able to sell all her furniture (except for a recliner and end tables she wanted). There were a lot of people who simply needed used furniture. She also sold her car to someone who needed a simple low cost low mileage car. Maybe she did not get the last $$ out of all of it but they came and got the stuff on her schedule and the car buyer was willing to wait until she could turn it over.

We still needed a small moving van for personal stuff, but it was worth it to not have her stressed any more over giving away things, throwing out, or selling. She is 80 and did a lot for which we are grateful.

I am a believer that there is always a source for good used furniture. Our local thrift just had a new leather sofa and three new matching chairs. Amazing.
