OP- I Am from Florida & have lived in Baltimore. I've also lived in Ohio, North Dakota & am now in Las Vegas. I work for Medicare contractors and I follow the money. I'm a single mom and my 10 yr old has been along with me for the ride. I'm only 26, and I have itchy feet, always ready for my next adventure! My kid has been to more states than most adults. I grew up in the same, small depressing town, with horrible people, stability is over rated. Your kids will be fine. My only concern for you is a lack of health insurance, due to your illnesses. My kid is fine, loves travelling, makes good grades and is happy!! Try Tampa! It's beautiful, cheaper than south Florida and more jobs than Orlando. Trust me on that one. Look into St. Pete.

to the OP, I'd say go ahead and move...If you like Florida weather, you can do great down there and you do only live once so try to get some type plan, something of a goal and go for it; you'll meet new people, find new opportunities, ....

I think it is a very hard decision. How will your stress be if you move with no job or money and a family? Will you still feel the same? I know I would. I don't love where I live now, but the stress of not having a job and money outweighs everything.

Every person is different, you can only answer yourself if you know you will be happier.

Personally I would try sending out resumes to the places I want to live and see if you could get a job.

You are kidding right? There are FEW to NO jobs in Tampa....we have 10% unemployment....not as bad as NV but it's getting there...
