I agree with lookingfortheperfectplace go to your local ups or ship it store ask if they would order you in a roll explain you will pick it up asap so they don't have to store it and they shouldn't charge you much more than their cost.
It's the shipping that gets you on the large rolls that's why you can save a lot if you pick up.
They have min. orders but if you order over a certain dollar amout they also deliver free but I'm not sure to what areas. Here's their number: 732.229.8457
Good Luck!
Great tips! I'm also moving in the spring and starting to sort through stuff. Too much stuff! Why do we have so much stuff, don't need it.
Anyone know where I could pickup peanuts and bubble wrap in Westchester, NY?
Now if I could only get a reputable moving company it would be one less headache!

As for the packing supplies, try ebay....there's a company called Cutting Edge Packing that has good prices. I buy supplies for work and ship daily so we go through tons of the stuff and after comparing prices with many companies, they have the best.
As far as moving companies, if you need full service just type in "moving scams" or "moving company complaints" and you can read the reputation of companies your researching. You might want to consider U-Pack, they will leave a trailer or pods at your house for three days, pick it up, drive it for you and then deliver. They give you three days to unpack but you have to do it yourself. There prices are the best and they have a good reputation, in fact they are used by that home make over show on ABC.

Thanks for the advice. I have researched the website and it is very helpful.
Unfortunately, I need a full service moving co. I am doing this move by myself, so I don't have anyone to load or unload trucks or pods. This is a long distance move and I am taking a small amount of stuff plus my car. I am sorting through everything right now; donating and giving away stuff.
I don't know if this company is any good, you would have to do some research but this is one of the companies that gave me a firm binding quote. I was told to make sure when they give prices to get that.
Our house goes on the market in the spring, and I'm getting into the clearing out and packing up mode big time now.
"Clean and cleared out" shows better, makes the house easier to keep clean, plus moving will be that much easier with the STUFF cleared out and packed up. .....
Been a while since I checked in on this thread....how did your house sale and move go? Love to get some feedback....
thanks!
