I would like to know what good moving/shipping companies are good for shipping a washer/dryer to Texas. I'm moving out of my rental next month and though I am not going to TX, I have a family member there that is interested in taking my washer and dryer, since the new place I am moving to already has them and I'd rather not put them in storage, especially the washer with these cold temps.

Are there some reliable shipping companies that I could look into? Thanks for any help.

Sell the W&D and send your family member a check.
Tell the family member to come to MI and get the W&D.

You could try Uship.com and see what kind of bids you get. Most any regular freight could be more than their worth. For instance, a on-line quick quote from Con-Way for 300 lbs from St Joe MI to Austin TX shows $1155

uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Cars or Moves

Way too expensive....probably not worth the hassle then. And I don't really trust uship. May just go ahead and take Rational's suggestion and just sell them locally and just give my sister the money to help them towards a new set.

That's what I would do.
