I'm trying too but I need a place thats much more lively culturally open and diverse.
I can't stand closeminded one way thinking people.
They make me sick to my stomach.

Good advice. I almost made that mistake moving to another state and buying a house upon one visit. Luckily, it fell through and I didn't get it. I hated the place once I was there but I did connect with a small diverse group of people that made the place tolerable; ended up there only 6 mos and moved...thank God. I have this uncanny way of getting a "feel" for a place but I listened to a lot of others opinions of the area instead of my gut feeling...never, never do that again.

Imagine the people who sign up for a binding contract of military enlistment for 4 or 6 years and find out, early on, that it is not for them.

Pittsburgh can be very conservative. You need to find organizations with like minded people. You may only be there another 11 months, but you need to make the best of it.
