That sucks for sure, but like you said might as well make the best of it.
I'm trying too but I need a place thats much more lively culturally open and diverse.

Good advice. I almost made that mistake moving to another state and buying a house upon one visit. Luckily, it fell through and I didn't get it. I hated the place once I was there but I did connect with a small diverse group of people that made the place tolerable; ended up there only 6 mos and moved...thank God. I have this uncanny way of getting a "feel" for a place but I listened to a lot of others opinions of the area instead of my gut feeling...never, never do that again.

90% people here are closet racist. I'm outtttttta here...I'm not going to spend my young adult living in a racist miserable city. I'm gone.
