Wondering what the best options are for having my car shipped from East Coast (NY, CT, NJ area) to Los Angeles?

Has anyone done this? I'd prefer not to put the miles on my car driving it across the country, but want to make sure my car is safe too. What are my best options?

It's really about how "special" the car is.

Absent something being really unique about the car...
either sell it in DC and start over in CA or drive it there.
The latter, with some time to enjoy the trip as a vacation the BEST option.

The car is brand new. I just bought it 2 months ago. So I am bringing it with me for sure... Just would like to avoid all the wear and tear of driving it cross-country.

What's 3000 miles on a new car? It's not like it's going to fall apart on you. I'd drive it and see places I hadn't seen before.

I have done this a lot of times and will be doing it again in a week or 2 though this time from LA to FL before I have done it from MI to LA etc. The cost depends on a variety of factors. My best advice is to not work with a broker and try to find a direct carrer. Make sure they have up to date and enough insurance coverage. Also that you do a walk around of your car and get a copy of any pre damages if any. I have been getting some quotes for myself and so far it has been 850-1100 or so. I think around 1000 give or take for yout trip.
Good luck

Open the Yellow pages or google "auto transporter"

They're all the same carriers.
The only difference is the broker at the front end.
