Weather and location meaning convenience and close to everything. I don't like cold weather and I need sunshine. I like to work, live and play all in the same area.
My first reason was to become independent. I lived with my parents a bit longer than I wanted to, and it reached to the point of irritation anytime they said anything to me at all. I really needed space in order to stay sane, and hope that a good distance will try and fix the relationship I have with them. Being the youngest of 3 children, they try to smother me and spoil me. I find it incredible irritating since I don't like it one bit.
Weather would be the second reason. I lived in Southern California my entire life, and I really dislike the summers since they can reach over 100 degrees. Moving up to the mountains is much more forgiving during summer time, but it snows during winter. I actually prefer the cold since it's easier to warm yourself up with more clothing, but it's not like you can run around naked during summer if it's incredibly hot. :P
Phoenix is the only place I've ever seen not one but both drivers in a fender-bender get out and run away (presumably because they were unlicensed & uninsured).
They left their vehicles in the intersection and it made quite a mess of traffic for a few hours.
Or factors that made you move, other than job! That's an easier decision, need a job, get an offer and go, but if your job/income was not a consideration or your job could be anywhere, what 2 factors made it a deal for you?
Just curious. I know for myself what my priorities/important factors are in the decision process, but what are yours?

If there are two factors, first and foremost...family, meaning my grown children and maybe cost of living, depending on the job salary and benefits of course.

Lots of bad Phoenix drivers experiences on this 1 thread! I lived there 15 yrs. and felt very unsafe w/ the road rage, lane changing constantly, red light runners, etc. But the Cali people would say it's better than LA!
