I started cleaning out my basement, making piles for Toss/Donate/Sell.

Notice there is no Keep pile.

My plan is to rent out this 1200 sq ft house with a full basement and move into an 850 sq ft temporary apartment until I can make the big move across the country when a job transfer comes through.

For some reason, I discovered that I own two smoothie makers and a blender, none of which I've ever used in my life. One is getting a home with my mom, one is going to my college age cousin who's moving into her own place this summer, and the other is going to the resale shop. An old couch, cheap end tables, and dining room chairs are also going to the cousin.

It feels good to be so unencumbered! I can't wait to load my last remaining items into the smallest driveable uhaul and GO!

Well, finally DH is on board with the move and actually got out to the shop yesterday (hasn't been out in months due to ice and injury). He's inspired now to get back to dismantling and selling parts off of our huge tractor collection.

We're going to really get on board with what is coming or going. Daunting, at first, but the more we dig in te easier it will get.

Going to have to deal with CraigsList eventually. I hope they're not all kooks.

Each time we go over there, we will grab something to take with us. Some pictures that are hanging on the wall, some knickknacks, etc. Don't want to go over there empty handed. Moving guys are coming on Saturday to start packing. Monday is the BIG day!

I can't wait until Tuesday.

I've gotten rid (trash and donate) of a lot of stuff. More to get rid of in June!
My car wouldn't make the trip down to Dallas. My sister decided to take the car from me.

I am very happy at how much clothes I've donated. It was 10 large bags of unworn clothes (still with tags) and unworn shoes and stuff animals. It's going to someone who'll use it. The joys of finding stuff.

Now that the house is in Escrow, I scheduled the container/pods thing to be dropped off and picked up and dropped off and picked up again. Now I am looking into having a fun little road trip with my wife and boys from the drive from California to Denver. I am thinking Vegas since the boys have never been and maybe Moab.

As I am typing this, the stove & microwave oven are heading to the new house. Stove won't be hooked up until Monday.

Went over there THREE times today-all three trips had stuff with me. Bathrooms have been cleaned. Time is getting closer & closer.

Nice Cat!!!

I called this one moving company for an estimate and now he won't stop calling me back. I told him up front that I was going to get several estimates and he's trying to lock me in to putting a deposit down.

He just called and texted me again - at this point I don't think I would go with his company just because he's being so pushy...
