Hi Guys

I'm relocating away from Boston and have some regular luggage (clothes etc.) that I'd need to obviously take with me. I was wondering if someone had any recommendations for shipping companies that are not too expensive and perhaps also offer student discounts ? I'd like to do some comparison with the check-in fee the airline charges vs what an inter-state shipping company may offer. Two checked in baggage costs 60 dollars and I'm thinking I will have 3 (maybe 4) bags max (2 would be clothes etc and another box or two miscellaneous items such as books/kitchen grocery items).

Thank You

Price goes up the more your Check...

UPS and FedEx ground, are generally a little cheaper then USPS, (Except... If you can cram lot of heavy stiff into the pre-paid "If it fits it ships" boxes )

Check into flights with Southwest, your first 2 bags are free, ship the others with UPS or FEDEX ground.

BTW: Books / Media can be shipped using USPS media mail for very cheap price. But Only "Media" nothing else can be in the box.

https://www.usps.com/ship/media-mail.htm

Its slower then normal mail/shipping but its cheaper.. But check the rules, as they can open it to inspect it, and charge your for 1st Class if what in there does not match the rules. (Also if you "wrap" it a way that does not allow inspection 1st class rates apply)

Thanks guys. That Southwest option sounds really good if I can try and squeeze everything within given limits. Someone mentioned Amtrak to me as well. I called them and their pricing is 60 bucks up to 100lbs and then 0.67 per pound after that until 299lbs. Another good option to keep in mind, thought i'd share.
