Try to get involved with a local start-up company if you don't have a job already. It's an easier way to make contacts.

Made a long distance move after college so that my ex could go to grad school. Longest four years of my life. Moved to central Pennsylvania and unless your relatives moved into the area 200 years ago it was tough to meet people. It was great to be able to move back to Arizona after that experience.

Well Jimdc, do you want to know how you can evaluate your feelings? Or do you just want a poll from others who say "yes" or "no"?

What is it you really want from your thread? We are obviously confused. And this is your thread, so please tell us !

I’m about to make the same move as you. From Boston toPhoenix. What part of Arizona you move to? I don’t know about Flagstaff or Tucson areas, but the Phoenix Metro seems like it has stuff to do.

Try going down Mill Ave, Entertainment District inScottsdale, Cardinals games in Glendale,Diamondback games downtown, joining a spa club or fitness center, just relaxing. Winter is coming for us here up north!

I'm asking for other people's stories......not a bunch of advise from Dr. Phil wannabes.

Wow! Who wants to invest the time to share their story to an ungrateful anonymous poster?! Arizona is a desert wasteland with little opportunity...good luck!

Not so much regret as frustration if I made the best choice. I have to realize that I have live with the choices I make and that my current move is only temporary I am itching to get back out west. Small towns may sound great in a book but they are boring as hell in real life. I only guaranteed to be here for 1 year, the length of the program.

You're having movers remorse. Don't let it take you over. It'll get better. It's only been a few weeks.
