Also Penske and uhaul will go down if you call after you get a quote on-line.
I just actually booked with upack... for the price.. I would have spent the same amount of money renting the truck and driving myself... it's about $1500... movers were $3200... renting a truck was $881...not including insurance or gas... I'm gonna call packrat to see if they would go down at all... cuz $2200 is alot.

Good luck with the move, I hope all goes well and you enjoy your new home.
LOL I agree...honestly I am a very good driver... living in Chicago my whole life before coming here... you have to be... but I just feel better not having to drive that big truck

Do y'all know where I can get a lock and moving pads... can I rent them from Uhaul?

You can get a lock at any hardware store. Moving pads....not sure. You can probably rent them, or go to Goodwill and buy some old blankets and bedspreads.

Harbor Freight has moving pads on sale for 6-7 dollars each quite often. Packrat lends you 20 when you use them. Sometimes you can buy them from Craig's list or eBay, but they are generally higher than harbor freight.

Where in the world do you live and where are you moving to?
I'll come and drive that truck for you (I have used to have a CDL and I've driven those trucks numerous times)
I can even send Mr. CSD he loves road trips and he has a current CDL and has driven dang near everything on the planet......

I love driving in the City, quite the rush.

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck and safe travels and I hope you enjoy your new home.

LOL I live in Baton Rouge hon...and I'm moving to Charlotte, NC

From what everyone was saying... I had decided to just drive myself... till I saw what the cost was from Upack... it's basically the same cost as driving... so I'm going that route.

I don't mind driving... I had to do it so much living in chicago...I just have never driven a huge truck like that before...and I kept thinking about having to make turns... not really as much just driving on the highway going straight...

Thanks hon!! We're just gonna be living in an apartment for a little over a year... hoping to buy a house after that... as long as I like it there...I've never actually been to NC yet lol
