So I don't have any friends in the current town I live. I was renting an apartment, but found a house I liked and bought it. The problem is I didn't continue my lease for the apartment since I own a house, right? Wrong! I wasn't told that the paper work would take 48 days to be processed therefore I don't own the house until March 30th! My lease is up March 15th...
So I need a place to stay for two weeks.
I looked at hotels -It'll cost me (The lowest) $1,587.78 USD
I looked up Hostels -All are 2+ hours away from my job.
And Craiglist- people want 1,000.00 For a month! and more once they find out I have a ferret!
(who is more trained than most people's cats.)
I live in Washington State, and I work in Redmond.
Do you think posting a wanted ad on Craigslist would be a good idea?
I'm just a woman with her ferret getting a huge dose of life *Sigh*
Hotels usually deal on room rate for either repeated stays or a long 10 days plus one.....call the sales office. The ferret probably needs be boarded.
Plus if you stay at a chain with a loyalty club sign up for that....they will give you X points per day which you can use later for free stays.

Reason: Edit
Have you asked the landlord if the apartment has been re-rented beginning the 15th? If it will not be re-occupied until April 1st, perhaps s/he will let you stay an additional 2 weeks until your new houses closes (congratulations on your home purchase, btw). Even if you paid a surcharge to stay in your current apartment, it would still be worth it, I would think. Posting a want ad on Craigslist would be a "last resort" solution, IMHO. There are just too many people out there running scams or who are just not people you'd want to stay with to make it a safe solution. If you DO go that route, I recommend running a full background check on the potential roomie for your own protection. Stay safe!

If your apartment can't extend you a couple of weeks call Mom, Dad, grandparents or whoever and ask if they know anyone you can stay with. If you were my kid or grandkid I'd pay the $1600 for you to stay at Extended Stay America. The Craigslist thing is scary as far as staying in a room in someone's house.
Seattle is pretty expensive, I assume Redmond is too. Is there an area kind of nearby that's a bit cheaper, but close enough that you could deal with the commute for 2 weeks? Or at least go stay in some cheap town on the weekends.
Have you looked at Comfort Inns that are in a quiet suburb type place (may be a bit of a drive to your job)? They give you a clean bed, flat screen, small frig, mircrowave and free breakfast in the morning.
If you tell them you're staying for many nights, they'll quote you a bulk rate.
