Until about 4 months ago, I had never lived about 10 - 20 miles from where I was born (Metro Detroit). Now I live just over 700 miles away (Memphis Metro area). Year of big change.
Currently 2,019 nautical miles from where I was born (pilots don't do statute ;p). This has varied with the years, having lived in 6 other states since I left my hometown after HS graduation. I have my parents still there, so there will be aging parent issues to attend to.
As much as it is an unbelievably gorgeous place to have been born and raised in, it's an economic hellhole, and a dystopia. I cannot afford the blunder of living there full time. I commend my parents for grooming my entire childhood in preparation for that eventual exodus.
I live about 10 mins from the hospital i was born in. About 25 mins from the town i grew up in, and lived in after i was married.
Getting ready to move from NJ to Maine though, as soon as i sell my house. Have wanted to move there for over 30 years, and i'm finally retired and going to do it.
About 20 miles away in the San Francisco bay area.
