I used PODS and UPACK for a long distance move. I still have nightmares about the worst experience I’ve ever had with a company in my life. The trouble is they are not consistent. One person can have a great experience with them in one place but another can have a terrible experience with their counterparts in another. They are not to be trusted. I rhought I would never see my things again and when I finally did, several of them had been broken. That was only part of the problems they caused.

So good for those who had a good experience with them but as for me, I would never use them again nor would I recommend them. Too risky.

You had problems with both? Did you use the cubes or the trailer?

I looked at Pack-rat reviews other than Yelp and they're pretty good. The price they gave me was around $3k. They also use a 12 foot trailer AND they said they'd knock 10% off. Something to think about.

I hate that happened Minervah
Why did you use both companies and what specifically did UPACK do wrong? I ask because my experiences with them are so great.

Upack either brings the tractor trailer to your home (or as we did, brought our stuff to the freight yard). Reason: neither of the small towns on either end of the move, allowed a tractor trailer to be parked in the street overnight.

I prefer UBox (Uhaul's version of Pods)...small enough that it's no hassle with local ordinances.
