We packed a 3 bedroom house plus a 2 car garage used as a workshop into a POD. The key is to pack all the way to the top. Some stuff we stood up on end, we stacked stuff, and we filled all of the voids. Nothing shifted and nothing was damaged. My husband is a master at packing, and there were a few things that he packed, removed, and re-packed in order to maximize the space.
Pack all of your items as well as possible. Wrap them and make them snug in the box. Like the other poster said, heavy at the bottom and lighter at the top.
We used PODs when we moved and I loved the freedom to be able to go out to the driveway, at my leisure, to unpack here and there. My house was not a mess to navigate with boxes.
Also, not a single item was broken or damaged in the PODs.
We also got a pod when we moved from NY to SC and as long as it is packed good, everything should be as you pack it. I was amazed that NOTHING, I mean nothing moved! They are a bit more expensive than some other company, but I would use them again in a heartbeat, they are a great company. Good Luck.

I made a measured drawing of the interior of the PODS container (including the location of the supports) then I measured the footprint of all of my largest pieces of furniture, made little rectangles of the appropriate sizes, and moved the shapes around within the outline of the container until I figured out a reasonable way to arrange things and still allow access to stack smaller items.
I'm usually not this methodical, but since I was stressed out by the move and was depending on the kindness of friends to help me pack, this short planning exercise saved us a lot of frustration. One smart friend even taped the diagram on the side of the container for reference. The delivery man thought it was hilarious.
