Have you ever moved to another state and not had a place to go to once you got there? What did you do? Did you get back on your feet?

We moved back to the USA with no place to go, nor did we have a car or any place to stay.

We arrived in NYC, and rented a car with no real destination.

Bought a car, then found a job but quit 2 weeks later and started college.

Great fun experience, we were coming off an 18 month vacation traveling aorund the world.

I arrived from abroad in Seattle never having been there before, and had pre-arranged to spend months at a commune in Renton Highlands, a member of which met me at the airport. The first night there were bedbugs in my bed. After I did the breakfast dishes, I made my apologies and scrammed.

As a former New Yorker, I trusted bus drivers to know everything. So I asked the driver of the Metro bus I caught to downtown Seattle where might be a fairly safe, inexpensive place to stay for a couple of weeks. He recommended the downtown YMCA on 4th at Madison (I am not a M but they took W also as residential customers) and dropped me off at the nearest stop. GREAT SUGGESTION! Worked out fine while I figured out what life I wanted to live.
