If you have it sent to Gen-D they will hold it anyway until you pick it up, but make sure you ask about a time limit for holding it there. You'll also have to ask which branch Gen-D goes to here. It used to be the PO downtown but that is closed now. Also you will need a picture ID to pick it up and that's all you should need.

Makes perfect sense...thanks...I would then just have to wait on filling out job aps until I got there and got set up. I will look into general delivery as it seems the best option. Why didn't I ask you about this 3 months ago?

just looked up general delivery via usps.com, looks like a better bet than chancing faxing personal identifications and credit card numbers to that pimply faced kid at ups...will be calling the post office there in the morning...you may have just saved my/our identities...thanks again

i'm sure the one on Sunset is the one that replaced the one downtown, it is a very large facility...
In some supermarkets, they have little mailboxes that give you a street address and a suite or apt number instead of a p.o box number. Many people get their mail that way.
I saw them at the Smiths on W.Sahara near Durango. I'm sure other stores also have them.
SS cards have never been acceptable....the old ones used to state that on the card...as for a birth certificate, that is only usable if you are still 6lbs 3 oz and16" tall [or however tall kids are when they pop out]
I agree with dynimagelv. Doesn't it even say on a SSN card something to the effect of "This isn't to be used as identification and only for tax purposes"?
Due to this verbage anyone that asks you for your SSN can be denied unless it is for tax purposes (filling out a jackpot form, etc). I flat out refuse to give out my SSN to anyone (including doctors) due to this.
It does say that on the older cards but ones issued after 1975 [when I lost my original card] don't say that but I ain't givin it to 'ANYone cept the IRS n SS
dynimagelv have you never won a jackpot over $1200 on a slot machine? If you do the casino will need it for taxes - that is the only exception I'll make.
