That said, they did the packing, which I know increased the cost. They did not do the unpacking-they did the "dump & run" lol! They did reassemble tables and beds and that kind of stuff, but basically just left the boxes in the rooms they were labelled for. (My belongings arrived 2 weeks before I did, so my landlord gave them access to deliver and put my car in my garage.)

The rest is based on weight. And I didnt have a ton of furniture or anything really heavy other than my car. I moved from Cleveland to Phoenix, so they had to take my vehicle as well because I flew out.

That sounds insanely high! Once the movers knew the employer was paying 100% did they jack up the price???

I just paid a company $4,000 to pack, load, transport and unload my 4 bedroom (2600 sq. ft.) household. I moved from VA Beach to Charlotte, NC. ( a 5 1/2 hour drive) It was worth every penny just to let someone else do all the packing, much less all the heavy lifting. At the new house, they put together my bed frames, hooked up the washer and dryer and put everything exactly where I wanted it. They did a great job!

I used Bekins to move from CA to TX in 2006. It cost us $3,800 to move from a 1,200 sq foot, 3 bd 2 bath. We didn't take any of our appliances or yard tools.

I moved a 1 bedroom apartment from NJ to MO for roughly $1500 in 2007. I used Broadway Express and they were excellent. You pack, they move.

I do not think you will beat PODS. Alot of things can get broken if you do not do it yourself. I also used pods and everything was in the same spot from NY to SC.

another nation-wide moving company you may consider moving with interstate-wide would be greabel van lines or a moving company with thier own hauling authority.

Does u pack mean clothes, dishes, books, etc but not beds and wrapping the furniture? We are starting to research our move from Las Vegas to Wyoming.
