There are times when a place is hot for moving to. More people are moving there and not so many moveing away. After a time, the rental company gets too many trucks stacking up with little business to take them someplece else where needed.
They can caravan them to another location which cost them money for their drivers to travel to and from, or they can make a smoking deal for a customer to get the truck from where it is to where it is needed.
Sometimes you can call them and ask where are they trying to get trucks from and to. If moving from Las Vegas to Memphis, they may tell you that lake Havasou AZ has an excess trucks and Jackson TN needs trucks bad. You get a great deal if you pickup a truck in that location and drop off in another location. You will need to do the cost to see if it makes sense.
