We are looking to move some where that has a better air quality. My husband has severe COPD, he is on oxygen 24/7. Our niece that lives with us has been diagnosised with PDDNOS Autisim (broad spectrum) and is non verbal. I have allergies and we are bringing my mom with us and she has asthma and rumitorid arthritis. Does any one have any suggestions. We currently live in Ohio and I am sick of driving in the snow and my allergies are getting worse. I know we have to watch the elevation with my husbands copd but I am looking for a place that can handle all of our health issues. If you have any suggestions would deeply apprecitate them. Thanks

For air quality you can probably do an online search but off the top of my head i'm not sure.My daughter is on the spectrum and NY has good programs but NJ has some of the best in the country. If you check out the autism speaks website they could probably tell you which is best for her.

Arizona/New Mexico? Low humidity (helps with breathing), little vegetation (helps with allergies).

I would say Arkansas due to the high air quality, but it is very humid in the summer and your allergies would probably get worse.

With your husband being on origen the lower altiude seems the key. The arthitis seems to inidacte a warm climate and your allegies maybe close to the ocean with a off shore breeze. No where is really perfect and i would advise that many dry areas are really bad for allergies with the wind and dust.Allergies can be treated while the low elevation will have more oxygen in the air and warmth for arthritis. Also the type of COPD can be for different chronic diseases also that might make a difference.I know my allergies where never worse than in the dry clmates of nevada or arizona with the horrible dust in the air and frequent wind blowing it around.
