I'm looking for oppinions about living in college towns. I'm mostly looking for comments from people who have spent a decent amount of time staying in a college town between career moves, or those who have decided to permanently settle down in a college town. Specifically, I'm 24 and have a career in education. I'm single, have nothing to tie me down, and originally wanted to move to the SW(Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, or Tempe/Phoenix)...but my career opportunities around here are just safer/better in the long run if I stick with what I have and just be happy with that. Pittsburgh is a bit too far of a commute(especially in winter), so I'm looking at Morgantown WV.

But I'm interested to know what everybody thinks about living in a college town on an extended or permanent basis. What are/were the best and worst parts of your stay as a resident, and did you find it to be frustrating or awkward to be living in a university presence as a "townie" with a career as opposed to being a student? Is living in a college town something that you've come to resent while getting older, and did you ever wish that you decided on a larger city with more options instead? How did your outlook and perception change over time? Are you happy with your decision? Any comments or advice dealing with anything related to this topic would be appreciated.
