Was watching the Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant on Spike tv tonight...and noticed a large proportion of representatives from the South- much more than other regions... is there a reason why the Hooters-girls in the South seem more likely to enter (or get in) such contests?
Is it a reflection of just how beauty pageants play a larger role in the culture of the US South, more than any other part of America? Or of how Hooters as a company carries greater appeal in that region, or in small towns (there were a surprising number of contestants representing their local small-town Hooters)?
I looked it up and they were founded in Clearwater, Florida, and their headquarters are in Atlanta and Clearwater. So that might have something to do with it.
And now that I'm thinking about, it's not really all that popular up here.
I believe there are many more Hooters in the South relative to other areas, plus who cares, pretty girls are pretty regardless of where they are from...
That being said the only time i have ever been in a hooters is in the south, but do know there is one in the Philly area just knot sure exactly where it is
