Laid back College Towns in the Northeast?

I'm originally from the Allentown, PA area. We have some beautiful campuses in the ABE area. Muhlenberg and Cedar Crest are both in Allentown. Moravian and Lehigh are in Bethlehem. The state college in that area is Kutztown University.

Good call. In particular, Bethlehem, PA has some very nice neighborhoods and a burgeoning downtown area -- definitely underrated as a small city/college town. It is also proximate to both Philly and NYC and has fairly cheap cost of living by NE standards.
