You know when sometimes in the city that you live in, you just are fed up with everything and everyone? Fed up with your job, your car, your co-workers, your family, the people, the politics, the state, the government, and just want to pack up and hightail it to Hawaii?! Anyone else ever felt like that? I get so stressed sometimes I just see a picture of Honolulu and I just want to buy a one-way ticket from Expedia and leave my troubles behind.
I think this matter of thinking, of whatever I'm doing, I need to do the exact opposite isn't really necessary. But often a better city, or slightly better weather is indeed an improvement in life for many.

Um, I have this thought every single day of my life. But it's to Maui, not Honolulu.
Sometimes I feel like if I can just have that one thing I want, all the other b.s. that bugs me on a daily basis wouldn't matter so much.
Because there are no problems with "the people, the politics, the state, [and] the government" in Hawaii? I grew up in Hawaii. It's not perfect. On the contrary, it has far more problems than many places on the mainland.

That is 100% true.
But sometimes your attitude towards potential problems can be influenced by your overall outlook and disposition...which in turn can be greatly influenced by environment.
Don't get me wrong. I love Texas. I love the people and the environment. But I think deep down I am an island girl.
