I am finishing my Master's degree in Education and will be finished in December. I hold a standard K-8 certificate for IL and am endorsed in Language Arts and Social Studies. I am just wondering if anyone can guide me in the right direction as to where I should start looking for jobs. Illinois isn't hiring many teachers at all and I was wondering if I would have more luck somewhere else? Help!
I would look at the Washington, DC metro area (with a 6.3% unemployment rate versus the national average of almost 10%) which includes the following school systems:
Fairfax County (VA), Arlington County (VA), Alexandria City (VA), Prince William County (VA), Loudon County (VA), Fauquier County (VA), Stafford County (VA), Culpeper County (VA), DC Public Schools (DC), Montgomery County (MD), Howard County (MD), Anne Arundel County(MD), Prince Georges County (MD), Calvert County (MD) and Charles County (MD).
