Trust me, there's a more common way to say five.
The way you said "five" was similar to how it's spoken in the Irish accent.

Illinois crossed my mind as well; I just wasn't sure if most people there pronounced "fall," "dog," etc. with such a high vowel. The Northern Cities area makes the most sense, but "far," "ideas," and "on" really threw me for a loop, too.
