anyways, Phoenix AZ is a decent area but i don't think that it fits the description of where you said you are looking to live.
I would suggest San Francisco, or even down in San Jose or some outlying areas that are not so densely populated. The city is amazing up there though! one of my favorites.
But like mentioned above, check out the neighboring states from Oregon Idaho Utah (not quite neighbor) etc. I have lived in most of the states west of the Rocky Mountains and they all have something different and nice to offer!
