Famous people like the former President Reagan had a California accent. So there definitely is one!

I have spent a lot of my time in LA over the years and there is definitely a So. CA accent. Keep in mind California spans quit a bit of the west coast so things change as you head North.

A good example of a LA accent is Drew Barrymore.

California has some southernisms, some Mexicanisms, and some Midatlanticisms.

It's got the Mid-Atlantic o, other southern vowels, and Mexican inflection.

It most definitely is not neutral. For neutral, go to Iowa or Nebraska.

Examples:

Pink = Peeenk
Legs = Laygs
End= Ind

You mean Native Americans? Because almost every white Californian and most of the Mexican Californians can trace their ancestry to various parts of America and Mexico in just a couple of generations. That is where California's unique accent derives from. The greater Los Angeles area itself, the epitome of how we define southern California's culture, including its accent(s) has grown almost 1,700% (17 times) since my grand-parents were born and they are still walking.
