My husband (East Indian) and I (white, Midwestern girl) want to move out of the deep South (Huntsville, AL area). We have two children, 4 and 2 years old. He was raised Hindu, my family's background is Christian, but we consider ourselves spiritual (if we had to choose a religion, it would be Hinduism). We have a struggling small software business, through which my husband is working hard to develop a specialized software product. I am a writer, currently employed now as a technical writer for a defense contractor.
We want good schools, plenty of nature, a good economy and low cost of living, and most importantly a community that is diverse and open-minded. We want to raise our children with a strong faith in God, but not as Christians. Also, my husband has a medical condition that necessitates our being in a fairly warm climate. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Probably the west coast. I'd say California...
