I've spent a lot of time in the redwoods of Northern California.

It's a great place. Clean, isolated, open space, lots of agriculture, and also full of hippies.

There are some aspects of living in hippie towns that are not so great. But overall, I enjoy these kinds of places a lot more than the more "normal" towns.

I know that Northern Cal/Southern Oregon has this kind of atmosphere, but what other towns or parts of the US are like this?

^^ Good choice, more specifically Brattleboro and Burlington.

In and around Ithaca, NY. I believe I posted a website for the Ecovillage in that area under another topic started by the OP.

yeah, that whole portion of upstate has the hippie lifestyle down.

maybe because of a little thing called woodstock

nowadays there are tons of hippie/jamband festivals in that area
