Florida in general I've noticed tends to have TONS of Waffle Houses. The only one I ever ate at was in Tampa and I absolutely hated it hehehe. Never been to a Waffle House since, even though a few have made it up to my area.

Atlanta Metropolitan area has the most Waffle Houses.I used to work on the one on Riverdale road in College Park.Atlanta has two waffle houses on just about every exit on I-.285 and at least one in most every suburb.

How about we ask what southern city has the FEWEST Waffle Houses? North of Virginia I don't believe they exist. Southern states, there is literally one on each end of an exit ramp for every highway exit, so you can not bypass the chain regardless of which way you turn off after getting off the interstate. They are pretty good though I admit for quick breakfast dining. It beats having the lame, stale limited menus offered by putrid Dunkin Donuts every half-a-square-mile here in New England.

Fort Lauderdale defnitely does not have the most Waffle Houses. They don't have many at all. I can only think of 4 in the whole county of 1.8 million and 1 in Fort Lauderdale. The MOST award goes to Atlanta. They even make PRETTY Waffle Houses there!!!!

Waffle houses go to Atlanta, but breakfast diners and cafes go to NYC.
