Black Earth WI. They're so down to earth they even named their city after the color of the earth they're down to.

I was in Cedar Rapids, Iowa recently for an audit for a few weeks. I have never been around so many friendly, down to Earth, laid back, and happy people in my life. These folks act like they've never met a stranger. They also know how to drive and don't honk and get right up on your ass on the freeway. Basically, you don't deal with douchebags. I didn't encounter a single rude person the entire time I was there. I love it!

I'd make the case for New Mexico as people here are friendly, approachable, and unpretentious. However the UFO incidents and alien abductions seem to prove otherwise!
