Amazing photo of Los Angeles on the MSNBC page. I didn't know mountains were readily visible.

Yankees are abrasive and tell you to your face, Southerners talk behind your back, but Californians don't care about you at all, only themselves.

I think that's why LA was ranked the rudest. When you don't exist to someone that is worse than someone hating you or pretending to like you but really hating you. The opposite of like is not hate, it's apathy.

They usually aren't due to the smog, but it's a short drive.

What's odd is, San Francisco was voted very high by visitors & residents in terms of the personality of the people. America's Favorite Cities 2010 - People - Travel + Leisure

Austin ranked high in that category too.

Those mountains do not appear any where that close in real life.

There is another article recently on the web about doctoring photos
for tourist brochures, and one hotel did something similar with the
White House in the background.

Those polls are such garbage! How are they coming up with these stats? If there is some rhyme or reason, perhaps a poll should be done of "most arrogant self-centered cities". " most overrated cities" "best cities to throw up in the street" "best cities for gas guzzling" "best cities for being number 4!!" Can I submit my votes now??

Very nice! That's my favorite kind of canard... the kind that offends all equally.

Agreed. Santa Fe is a choice on this list, but Austin's not? (Not that Austin would garner many votes). Denver's not on the choice list either. It's the internet equivalent of beer conversation with the gang at the sports bar, except that the collective IQ of your drunken friends at the sports bar would far exceed the IQ of the writer of this drivel.

But they would have to re-do the poll every time you moved!

I try to be fair

From living in all parts of the country, I feel I have a good sense of the negative traits of each part of the country.

For balance, the positives of each part of the country are:

For yankees, you know where you stand with them at all times, for Southerners they are always polite to you, and for Californians, you can be who you want to be no matter how weird without being criticized.
