Dunno, but it makes little sense to me.

Look at the map again, the LA area is the enormous one, SD is the squarish area in the extreme bottom left

Where I live is interesting:

100 miles gets 11.2 million. Adding just 30 more miles gets 18.1 million.

All because Philadelphia is just over 100 miles away.

Using the opposite starting point

For Philly at 100 miles it is 27.7 million
At 130 miles it goes to 35.3 million

Didn't read the thread, but I'm guessing the highest would be somewhere in Central Jersey? From there you should be able to reach almost all of the NYC and Philly metro areas.

Amazing how the greater LA area had over a 90% increase
in 30 years!!
I wonder if that figure for LA also includes Orange County and portions of
San Bernardino & Ventura counties as well? they are also part of the LA greater metro area.
It could very well add upwards of 3 million people to the figure

I wonder if that figure for LA also includes Orange County, if not there goes another 3 million more.

It includes everything in SOCAL less SD, almost as far north as SF and as far east as Vegas nearly

There is a map in the link from HTOWN a few posts later. The area covered by this LA region is enormous though most of the population is coastal

OK thanks, since it only says Los Angeles-Long Beach-Riverside
I thought it was a much smaller area.
