Hello guys, I'm looking for a job right now, and I figure I can either look by skill/position or location. It excites me that I could choose a new place to live, and I was wondering if any of you guys can give me some recommendations

ideally the new city will be
-warm, near a body of water (great lakes, ocean, etc)
-low crime
-friendly people
-higher population density than rural/very suburban areas

my background is in electrical engineering, currently living in suburban PA. I don't like the long winter here. In terms of traveling in N. America I've been to Canada and thought they were so much more friendly than the East coast. I am under the impression that the west coast is friendly as well. I've been down to Miami and other parts of Florida, loved the weather there. the pace of life is a bit slower than what im used to tho.

Thanks!!

Why not just move to Canada? Vancouver is a great city, and seems to have what you're looking for. With your EE degree, you probably won't have much trouble getting a work visa.

Virginia Beach is a low-density, sprawling suburbanized area.

Savannah could be an option for you. It won't have the urban vibe you're used to but you will find friendly people, warmer weather, lower crime and a dense walkable core.

For the most part, it is, but everything else fits. There are nearby optioms with more density.

Perhaps parts of Nashville could work.
