There are plenty of nice people in Miami. Every big city has its fair share of idiots, Miami included. But you cannot really change this. Miami without rude people is not Miami.
We were asked if we could change one thing. I don't think there are any limitations on what we could propose changing. It's not as if any of these suggestions are going to matter anyway.
Again, I'd sincerely like to see Miami's population be more curteous. The dynamics among drivers, cyclists and walkers is horrendous. I'll tolerate rudeness in stores, indifference on the part of wait staff and lousy service from all sorts of trades if I can just get the public to behave in a civil manner when they are driving their cars, riding their bikes or walking.
Better bicycle/pedestrian infrastructure. Our town is better than the surrounding, smaller towns and communities, but it could be so much better. The city does seem to be trying, at least.
Columbus - More interesting architecture. I like my city but architecturally its one the most bland in the country, there are pretty much no landmarks that stand out.
I wish we had somebody with enough guts to enforce city codes and eliminate the cars on concrete blocks and do something about demolishing half burned buildings. At one time, this small little town that sits right off I-40 was a resort town back in the early 1900's with many hotels and beautiful homes and now it's really just run down. It's so beautiful here. I wish people didn't take that for granted.
Wow your city must be perfect then. I'm a bit jealous.
