OBX is very cool but on pure beach S Jersey has some of the best along the whole East Coast. I think in general the beaches of the East coast are under rated as they are some of the nicest in the country. The shame is the season is shorter the further north you go

I am partial to S Jersey as I have spent my whole life going there but have been to many beaches along the East Coast

The East Coast is essentially one huge beach. I vote for the whole thing.

Personally my favorite beach would have to be Isle of Palms, SC. I like the beaches in the southeastern part of North Carolina and most of the South Carolina beaches. Delaware/Maryland beaches are too packed anymore and the water is always too cold IMO. Virginia beach/OBX is alright I guess but..... I don't know I guess I have gotten bored with the area. The eastern shore of Virginia has some unique elements too it but im not exactly rushing to Chincoteague when it gets hot. That's how I feel about it anyways.

ur comment made me finally vote SC. Temperature is important, and not being to crouded to find parking or set a blanket out is important to.

I'm in the minority, but I know DelMarVa and love it. I also love Wildwood, NJ. Florida beaches aren't an option on this poll, though I'm hoping to move to Cocoa Beach - it's the one FL beach that I've been to that actually reminds me of home (Dewey, Rehoboth Beach, DE) although I can't afford to live in DelMarVa full time - and even if I could, it's too short of a season! FL here I come! B.

I'm bias... NJ

It has the most to do, from world class boardwalks (Atlantic City, Wildwood, Seaside, Ocean City), to historic charmers (Cape May, Ocean Grove), to preserved islands (Island Bech State Park)- I also hear NJ is the best state on the East Coast to surf, I'm not too positive on that though. If climate wasn't an obstacle, the beaches in NJ aren't so different from the ones in SC/GA. The whole Atlantic Coast is pretty plain jane as far as beach topography goes, minus the New England/FL coast.

New england beaches are arguably the prettiest, but the water is much colder and there's less to do.

Florida would of dominated the polls, with me giving it a vote as well if it was an option

I guess I'm also biased...but NJ is a real heavy hitter on the east coast. Where else aside from Florida can you go from beach town to beach town, for 120 miles, each one having an entirely different flavor, ranging from natural/undeveloped, family-oriented, nightlife-oriented...and includes a nude beach?
