I already lived in Illinois so I wouldn't chose that even thought I love it. I would have chose Idaho because it's so beautiful but I heard it was really racist and home of the KKK so that's a no. So I would chose Indiana. I've heard it was really nice and upcoming.

taking these into consideration:

-cheaper land taxes
-beautiful scenery
-friendly atmosphere
-access to fresh fruits/vegetables (as in abundance of roadside farmers stands)
I live in Tennessee too and would obviously agree that this is a great place to live. I couldn’t help but notice though that the states on his list are mostly northern. Tennessee and Virginia are the only 2 southern states on the list and Tennessee is much more southern culturally than Virginia. Does the OP really want to be in the South? If he does then Tennessee is worth a looksee

Missouri or Tennessee. Missouri is kind of underrated in the beautiful scenery department.
