Most of my ancestors are from the African tropics, yet I can't stand to be out in the sun in temps above 80! I doubt ancestral history means that much when it comes to climate preferences.

southwest. Not because of the heat but because of all the different varieties of climates and weather so you can go from skiing to swimming in a single day. I love the cool crisp air of the mountains every morning.

BTW, I like how evenly voted this poll is. I was expecting a bunch of votes for the West Coast and Southwest and no votes for the Midwest and Northeast.

I Don't live on the west coast -- but of the choices here I'd have to say that the Mediterranean southern California climate is the best. (This is coming from a Mountain west native). There are about a thousand and one reasons NOT to live in southern California but climate is definitely not one of them.

The Northeast is tempting but I think even I would tire of long winters and lots of snow. Midwest would be similar to me, only perhaps with even greater extremes, from everything I've read. I already live in the Southeast and hate the heat more than I could put into words, so that's out and obviously so is the Deep South. The Southwest would probably be too hot and arid for my liking, not to mention way more sun than I'd prefer. I'd probably like the West Coast a lot, assuming we're talking mostly about northern California, although I think it would probably still be sunnier than I prefer. Therefore, I voted Pacific Northwest. Cloudy, mostly cool year round, not too dry, it's about as close as I would get to ideal in this country.

Default What region's climate do you prefer?

Of course, Southern California has a very good climate to enjoy.

I picked Southwest because the Westcoast also includes the Pacific Northwest, and I don't like the Oregon-Washington climate.

I like hotter weather and mild winters.
