Not sure if it's the most expensive in Kentucky or not but it's listed for $30 million in the heart of horse country outside of Lexington, KY known as Castle Post.

dont know about the state of new york, but in the city the most expensive property seems to be this upper east house now with a $72 million price tag. Its got 10 bedrooms, so its only $7.2 million per bedroom. A steal!

1016 Madison Avenue, New York NY Townhouse | Sotheby's International Realty, Inc.

I see the $170 million figure thrown around a lot for that Hamptons mansion, but I'm almost positive it hasn't been sold -- it would have been news all around the world I think -- and wonder it iwas ever seriously on the market to begin with. Brokers like to throw around big numbers for properties knowing full well that they wont get that price, but still create some buzz. But buzz isn't the same as a sale.

The most expensive listing I could find for the Portland area is this one on an island in Lake Oswego, at $15,000,000.

Harnish Properties Portland Oregon Real Estate Agents & Brokers, Oregon Commercial Real Estate Professionals - Harnish Properties

There is a ranch somewhere out in the Oregon boonies for $25,000,000 but I probably wouldn't describe that as a "home".

This has me curious where Phil Knight lives and how much his house might be worth!

Michigan's most expensive as of this post:

186 S. Division, Holland, Michigan, United States

$18.9 M

5 beds/7 baths

13,532 sq ft on 38 acres.

Built in 1998.

Has been on the market for almost a year.

I like the architecture, but the furniture and decor is far from contemporary. It's also considerably overpriced compared to other expensive real estate in Michigan.

The next most expensive house in in Groose Pointe and you get a lot more for $2 M less.
