And as for the decrease in murders....OF COURSE there going to go down because the South Bronx averaged over 100 murders per 100,000 ppl......it has no choice but to go down. All the areas in NYC were like that...Washington Heights and Harlem also averaged over 100. What you think it was gonna stay that high? It blows San Berdardino out the water with its 26. The article you showed shows that the Bronx is still the most dangerous part of NYC...so its all good. thanks for helping my cause
Even today Mott Haven are of the Bronx averages 15 murders per 100, 000 which is still one of the highest rates....add that with the crime and it is worse than Cali....
The title of the thread was MOST CRIME FILLED NEIGHBORHOOD........You are more likely to get jumped, stabbed, robbed, shot etc etc in the South Bronx than in San Berdardino thats a fact...which makes it more Crime Filled. You are just most likely to get killed in Berdardino thats it.....but in terms of crime, you walk down the street in the Bronx and you have a higher chance of something happening to you than in San Berdardino.
Don Juan...just give up. You're argument against SuperMario's NEIGHBORHOOD stats was to post a list of STATE stats...
As for neighborhoods, as of right now, Hunters Point (pop. 30,000) has had 19 murders this year. If there were no more murders for the rest of the year, the murder rate would be 66 per 100,000. Of course, there WILL be more murders, so it will be end up being higher.
The Mission District in SF (pop. 60,000), has had 11 murders so far. If it stays that way the rest of the year, the murder rate will be 18 per 100,000. Of course, it will probably be higher.
I'll see if I can get some stats for more SF neighborhoods...

Donnie will never give up. Compton, California's worst "hood," has a murder rate of 67 per 100,000 people. And those were the statistics from 2006, and Compton is being gentrified. Hunters Point has a murder rate of over 80 per 100,000 people right now. Where would I rather be? Compton!
Look at Donnie's information. Alaska as the 7th most dangerous state? First of all, we are not even talking about states. Secondly, how the **** is Alaska more dangerous than NY, NJ, and PA? Give me a break.

type in the most dangerous states and you will see. NY is not in the top 20. its safe which is a good thing
It seems that large cities on the East coast have much higher crime rates than Large cities West of the Rockies. Why is this? Los Angeles gets a bad rap but realistically it has a much lower crime rate than places like Detroit, Philly, Atlanta, St. Louis, Baltimore, well you get the picture pretty much any city East of the Rockies. Seattle, San Fransisco, Portland, Boise, Pheonix etc all have pretty low crime rates. Can anyone explain this?

Justin, I believe that you are going to have to support your post with facts. I know Philly is the murder capitol right now. However there are many things to consider. One, La includes very expensive areas, but the metro considering locations out of the cities boundaries are also known for a very high murder rate. As where in the east it drops of considerably once you get out of the city border. Also, I have read statistics where Phoenix crime rate was rising very fast, and was not a low crime city at all. I am too lazy to google search the crime rates in Pheonix right now, so don't count me for that. San Francisco, yeah, but what about Oakland?
